Warren Buffett, with an estimated net worth of $37 billion, ranks No. 2 on Forbes' list of 793 billionaires worldwide. So is it really any wonder when Bloomberg surveyed its users it discovered the Oracle of Omaha is still the top financial dealmaker they look to for guidance?
With a quarter of the 1,452 survey respondents voting for the head of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.A), Buffett handily beat out Pacific Investment Management Co.'s Bill Gross and other challengers. The results are below:
- Buffett 25%
- Gross 16%
- George Soros 10%
- Alan Greenspan 3%
- Ben Bernanke 1%
Other names Bloomberg reportedly included in the survey were Nouriel Roubini, the New York University professor who in 2006 predicted the financial crisis, and Marc Faber, publisher of the Gloom, Boom & Doom Report. - Matthew Wurtzel
