FCC said to draft AT&T-Centennial approval order

A draft order to approve AT&T Inc.'s (NYSE:T) $2.8 billion acquisition of Centennial Communications Corp. (NASDAQ:CYCL) is circulating at the Federal Communications Commission, Stifel, Nicolaus & Co. states in a Friday research note.
 
"As we have noted, the key open issue is whether Commissioner [Michael] Copps, who has traditionally voiced skepticism  about wireless concentration, will slow down the approval by considering additional conditions," states the report.
 
"I don't think you'll see any of the commissioners unduly delay it," said Andrew Lipman of Bingham McCutchen LLP.
 
The wireless carriers announced the deal in November 2008. The U.S. Department of Justice cleared the transaction in mid-October. - Chris Nolter
