
Bad news for those in the finance industry. The latest reports and rumors of layoffs are at Ameriprise Financial Inc.'s (NYSE:AMP) newly acquired Columbia Management asset division, Landesbank Baden-Wuerttemberg and Chrysler Financial.
- Ameriprise Financial, which bought Bank of America Corp.'s (NYSE:BAC) Columbia Management division, said there have been no decisions about layoffs but will make them before years' end, according to The Charlotte Observer.
- German public sector bank Landesbank Baden-Wuerttemberg is eliminating 2,500 jobs by 2013, according to BusinessWeek.
- Chrysler Financial is cutting 360 positions at its Farmington Hills, Mich., headquarters and regional offices, according to the Detroit Free Press.
