The New York City tech community has been thriving, which is why First Round Capital's Charlie O'Donnell and the co-founder of Path101.com put together a nextNY event Tuesday night to allow local journalists, entrepreneurs and venture
capitalists to network. O'Donnell said at the event that many people don't realize how big the NYC tech community is and that there are many events through nextNY and NY Tech Meetup where entrepreneurs and venture capitalist can network and learn from each other. "We are different than the Silicon Alley community," O'Donnell said. "There are a lot of startups here in our community and many startups that aren't waiting for New York City government incubators or teaching programs to get their ideas launched and their businesses going." Over 50 gathered to network at Sun Microsystems' offices in Gramercy Park. Pictured above are Jordan English Gross of Saber Seven Inc./Dorty.com, Jonathan Berger of Market Publique, KGBWeb's Joseph West, David Reinke of StyleHop and the founder of a new startup called BuzzKill. They discussed what it means to be a startup in the current economy and what it's like raising venture capital. They also presented their products to several media representatives. Some other noteworthy participants who were in attendance included David S. Rose, chairman of New York Angels, Joel Smernoff of 960 Media, Allen Stern of CenterNetworks, Reece Pacheco of Overtime Media, Jordan Goldman of Unigo, Ryan Janssen of SetJam, Justin Smithline of Instinctiv, TJ Sassani of EkoVenture, Michael Muse of Buzzd, Andrew Montalenti of Parsely and Roger Wu of Klickable. - Maria Woehr Follow me on Twitter @newsgirlmw

From: Andrew Montalenti,
Hey, Thanks for the mention of Parse.ly (http://parse.ly), which, coincidentally, I discovered in Parse.ly itself this morning :-) That was a great event; as usual, it's wonderful to see so many NYC startups gathered in the same place. My big takeaway: "NYC may not be Silicon Valley, but #2 isn't bad!" :-) Thanks to Charlie and everyone else for putting it together. Andrew

Klickable is on my list of favorite tech companies. Love the idea they have got going. I find it useful and able to solve a problem for online consumers.
Always nice to see ongoing news items about Klickable show up in Google News, when I do a search on them!
