Finance Layoffs: Century Bank and more

pinkslips_transparent_125x100.gifMore bad news for those in the finance industry. The latest reports and rumors of layoffs are at Global Trust Bank, Century Bank and California National Bank.

  • Global Trust Bank has cut 27 employees from its payroll and shut down some branches, according to The Observer.

  • Regulators seized Los Angeles-based California National Bank on Friday. There has been no word of layoffs, according to the Los Angeles Times.

  • The Office of Thrift Supervision is requiring Sarasota, Fla.-based Century Bank to find a buyer or merger partner within 20 days. No word of layoffs, according to the Bradenton Herald.
