Nokia Siemens may enter Nortel auction

Nokia Siemens Networks is considering a bid for the Ethernet business of bankrupt telecom equipment maker Nortel Networks Corp. in competition with a stalking-horse bid from Ciena Corp., according to a media report.

The Ethernet auction is the latest step in the breakup of Toronto-based Nortel, which filed for bankruptcy in January with C$4 billion ($3.7 billion) in debt.
