Market falls back to reality

The market was not as exuberant Wednesday as the Democrats who were celebrating their landslide victory, claiming the White House and a majority of Congress. Reality set back in for investors that the economy is in deep trouble as unemployment numbers soared and some Deal Stocks announced disappointing earnings, causing money to flow out of the market. The Dow dropped 426.90, or 5.05%, to 9,139.27 while the Nasdaq declined 98.48, or 5.53%, to 1,681.84. ...


Bunge buying Corn Products International for $4.2B

Oilseed processor Bunge Ltd. announced that it's buying Corn Products International Inc., a maker of ingredients used in beverages and breakfast cereals, for $4.2 billion in stock and assumed debt on Monday. The acquisition has Bunge paying $56 per share in its own stock for Corn Products, a 21% premium to Corn Products' closing share price of $42.90 on Friday. ...
