Recession fears stalk global stock markets

The rhythm has become familiar: Asian stock markets tank, Europe follows, and the Dow drops as markets open in New York. On Monday, Japan's Nikkei index fell 6.4% to a 26-year low, which preceded a 2.3% decline in the FTSE 100 and a 3.1% drop in Germany's DAX index in midday trade. After about an hour of trading, the Dow had pared opening losses and was up a few points....
