The Home Depot is making an addition. Not only can one find nails, hammers, sheet rock and a plethora of other hardware items at the Atlanta-based company, but soon it will be offering home improvement loans following its Tuesday, May 9 purchase of Enerbank USA. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Home Depot reached an agreement to acquire EnerBank USA, a lender that specializes in financing to customers of contractors. NWA closer to leaving bankruptcy

With an agreement in hand from its pilots union, Northwest Airlines inches closer to exiting bankruptcy. Northwest pilots, who are represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, voted to ratify a new 5-1/2 year contract that preserves job protections while reducing the airline's costs by $358 million. With 95% of NWA's 4801 pilots voting, the union approved the new contract by a 63.42% to 36.58% margin. The pilots agreed to accept a 23.9% pay cut that NWA initially proposed in November shortly after filing for bankruptcy. LLC may trim weight-management titan Jenny Craig Inc. from their portfolios – the Carlsbad, Calif. classroom diet company has hired Goldman Sachs & Co. to explore strategic options, including a sale.
