ecopower.jpgAltira Group LLC on Thursday said it invested $7 million in Eco Power Solutions, a maker of energy recovery and emission control technology.

Eco Power's Comply 2000 unit captures waste heat that would otherwise escape via flue stacks, reducing energy costs. The company says the technology can virtually eliminate industrial and utility emissions generated from oil, natural gas and coal-fired boilers and reduce up to 25% of carbon dioxide emissions.

Altira made the investment from its $176 million Altira Technology Fund V, which is focused on venture capital for energy technologies.  - David Shabelman
