Palo Alto Networks adds $10 million to Series C round

  Share     E-Mail    Discussion    Print Story

paloaltonetworks.gifApplication firewall developer Palo Alto Networks Inc. on Monday said it has added $10 million in funding to the $26 million Series C round of financing it announced in August (though this press release actually says $27 million). The funding was led by JAFCO Ventures, with participation from Japan Asia Investment Co. Ltd. and Northgate Capital LLC. The company has now raised a total of $64 million.

Palo Alto Networks has developed what it calls "next generation" firewall technology to protect networks that run extensive Web-based applications. While most early firewalls were designed around close relationships between ports and applications, newer applications are created specifically to bypass those firewalls without using those relationships. -- David Shabelman
