Google content partnership VP David Eun on changing technology

  Share     E-Mail    Discussion    Print Story

In part three of Tech Confidential's Behind the Money video interview with Google Inc. vice president of content partnerships David Eun, he answers our questions about how changes in the tech landscape -- from new delivery devices to new development tools -- are affecting content. By working with third parties, says Eun, Google gets more distrubition. "At the end of the day, the overall pie gets much larger."

Last quarter, says Eun, Google paid out over $1 billion to AdSense partners. "The old media view might be, 'How do you lower the revenue that you share with partners?  But our approach is exactly the opposite. How do we get that number over $1 billion? Because if the overall pie is increasing, as a result, Google is doing better as well."

For more on Google's content partnership strategy, see Alain Sherter's in-depth Q&A with Eun. To tune into part one of our video interview, see earlier post from Tech Confidential. For part two, see previous post.
