Resting in a sea of consumer Internet plays at Demo 2007 is Dart Devices. The Silicon Valley startup is hoping to make interoperability between phones, cameras, computers and other electronics run more smoothly. If it enables me to finally control my home theater with a universal remote, I'm all for it.
The company said today it has raised $1.6 million in first round funding from Motorola. I can't fathom how taking capital from a sole corporate investor so early in a startup's life is beneficial to the startup but regardless of its fundraising strategy, Dart Devices' commercial ambition is a worthwhile one.
