@Demo: Demonstrating EyeJot's video e-mail service

E-mail being married to another application is one of the big themes of the Demo conference. One useful example of this was released by EyeJot this week. The company meshes e-mail to video chat to allow users to send video e-mails easily via its web site or widgets on other web sites such as MySpace.

Venture capitalists seem interested. EyeJot CEO David Geller told me that more than ten inquired about his company yesterday. Geller founded and funded WhatCounts, an e-mail newsletter delivery service, so he's done this before. He's looking to raise between $2 and $3 million in a first round of funding. To me, EyeJot is the sort of Demo company that could be acquired for a few million dollars by the end of this year.
