1 QC employee and other Facebook tidbits recorded by Jurvetson

Last year, Frank Quattrone made a rare public appearance. Next month, Mike Moritz will moderate a panel of journalists covering Silicon Valley. It will be hard to keep that one secret.

So, it was a surprise when Steve Jurvetson was granted permission to scribble down some notes on his flickr page about last month's WAVC event featuring Chamath Palihapitiya, Facebook's vp of product marketing and operations (pictured at right).

Here is Draper Fisher Jurvetson managing director Steve Jurvetson's record of Palihapitiya's presentation about Facebook:
  • Average of 40 page views per user per day 
  • Facebook activity does not vary with the age of the user, it varies with the number of friend relationships
  • Facebook is a social utility
  • We change how information is consumed and shared
  • We believe there is a social graph that maps all people in the world; we want to know about all the edges 
  • 60M active users, adding 250K per day 
  • We have 450 employees: 150 Engineers and 1 QC person
