Google Inc. late Friday, March 16, confirmed earlier reports that it would acquire in-game video advertising firm Adscape Media Inc. Rumors of a deal between the two Mountain View, Calif.-based companies first surfaced in January and the acquisition finally was announced on Google’s blog on Friday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, though earlier reports pegged the price at $23 million. Adscape’s technology allows for dynamic advertising in video games, allowing gaming publishers to change or update advertisements through the Internet.—David Shabelman
