John Doerr to receive lifetime achievement award

John Doerr will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award in Entrepreneurship and Innovation tonight from the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.

According to the Lester Center, "the award honors individuals who succeed in multiple dimensions, including personal entrepreneurship, helping others succeed, and giving back to the community through civic leadership and philanthropy."

The Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers partner is in good company. Recent recipients of the award include Gordon Moore, Arthur Rock, Richard Kramlich and Warren Hellman.

Brook Byers, one of Doerr’s partners at Kleiner Perkins, Vinod Khosla, one of Doerr's former partners at Kleiner Perkins, Gordon Davidson, chairman of Fenwick & West, Bill Campbell, chairman of Intuit; and Haas School Dean Tom Campbell will speak in Doerr’s honor at the award ceremony. It begins on the Haas campus at 8:15 tonight.
