mypunchbowl.jpgEvent planning software startup Punchbowl Software Inc. said Tuesday it has received $2.1 million in a round led by Contour Venture Partners. Previous investors Intel Capital and eCoast Angels participated in the funding.

The company, founded in 2007, offers online party planning and invitations built on the open source Web framework Ruby on Rails. The funding will be used to grow Punchbowl's development team, the company said. Traffic to the company's site has grown by a monthly 20% over the past year, it added.

The company raised a seed round of less than $1 million from Intel Capital and eCoast Angels last October. -- Olaf de Senerpont Domis
