NextG Networks
Wireless network technology developer NextG Networks Inc. has raised a $49.8 million third round, according to technology blog VentureBeat. Investors included Oak Investment Partners of Palo Alto, Calif., and Gabriel Venture Partners of Redwood Shores, Calif. The San Jose, Calif., company makes fiber-optic distributed-antenna systems for wireless communications that "fill the gaps left by huge cell-phone towers in an aesthetic fashion."

Etsy
Etsy Inc., a Brooklyn, N.Y., online trading platform for handmade items, has raised a $27 million Series D round. Previous investors Union Square Ventures of New York and Hubert Burda Media of Munich were joined by new backer Accel Partners of Palo Alto, Calif. The company had previously received $5 million in venture capital. Etsy will use the capital to accelerate growth and development.

7digital
British online music and media provider 7digital has received an $8.5 million investment led by Sutton Place Managers, joined by investor Balderton Capital. Patrick Maxwell, a Partner at Sutton, will join the 7digital board. The money allows the company to expand and meet consumer demand for digital music and video downloads. It will also be used for international expansion in the U.S. 7digital offers a music download store and a platform for unsigned artists.
