Digital music distributor
IODA today revealed a
partnership with Spanish telecommunications operator and ISP
Telefonica SA under which the telco will offer IODA's catalog of songs to mobile customers in 24 countries. Telefonica will provide IODA's full tracks, ringtones, mastertones, video tones, album art and wallpapers to mobile customers, offered via its subscription services.
The announcement arrives as PricewaterhouseCoopers delivers a
study emphasizing the importance of a global strategy for marketers and advertisers, as growth in mobile entertainment services in various international markets is expected to outstrip U.S. growth. In a statement, IODA chief Kevin Arnold emphasized the significance of both mobile providers and Spanish, Latin and other international musics in the company's growth strategy. Telefonica primarily serves Spanish and Portuguese-speaking markets in Europe and Latin America.
