Ubicom
Ubicom Inc. of Sunnyvale, Calif., a supplier of communications processor and software technology for the residential WLAN market, has raised $18 million in Series D financing. Lehman Brothers Venture Partners of New York and Samsung Venture Investment Corp. of San Jose, Calif., led the round. Also contributing were unnamed existing investors. Stakeholders in the company include Mayfield Fund, August Capital and Levensohn Venture Partners, all of Menlo Park, Calif., Investcorp Technology Ventures of London, JatoTech Ventures of Austin, Texas, Walden International of San Francisco and private investor Dado Banatao. The company has raised $86 million in funding, including a $20 million round in March 2006. Founded in 1996 as Scenix Semiconductor, the company develops platforms for real-time interactive applications and multimedia content delivery. Ubicom's technology manages the flow of traffic without the need for user configuration for applications such as gaming, VoIP, instant messaging and video conferencing. The proceeds will go toward expanding engineering, as well as sales and marketing.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Agámi Systems raised $45 million in Series C financing led by Advanced Equities Inc. of Chicago and including current investors New Enterprise Associates and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers of Menlo Park, Calif., Apex Venture Partners of Chicago, Alta Partners of San Francisco, TIF Ventures of Singapore and Duff Ackerman & Goodrich LLC of San Francisco and new investments from Itochu Corp. of Japan to support continued development, sales and marketing of enterprise class storage systems. The new financing brings total funding in the company to $85 million and includes provisions for expanding the round size. --Clifford Carlsen

Database startup Blist has raised $6.5 million in venture funding from Frazier Technology Ventures of Seattle and Morgenthaler Ventures of Menlo Park, Calif. The Seattle startup is developing online tools that enable consumers and small businesses to create their own searchable databases. The money will be used to add staff and functionality, including importing data directly from Microsoft Excel.

trialpay
Mountain View, Calif.-based TrialPay has closed a $12.7 million Series B round, giving it a total of $15.8 million. The company has an alternative payment platform that pairs shoppers with offers from 2,000 advertisers, giving consumers added incentives to make a purchase. Investors included Index Ventures of Geneva, Atomico Ventures, Battery Ventures of Wellesley, Mass., and former PayPal executives Ron Conway and Bob Pittman.

Albeo Technologies
Lighting startup Albeo Technologies Inc. of Boulder, Colo., has raised a $1.5 million first round led by Green Spark Ventures LLC of Denver. The capital enables Albeo to develop products and expand. Albeo Technologies designs and manufactures white light emitting diode-based systems for commercial and industrial businesses.
