Atlas Venture raises $283M tech and life sciences fund

Early-stage firm Atlas Venture has raised a new $283 million fund targeting technology and life sciences startups in the United States and Europe.

The firm's eighth fund include existing limited partners Kisco Management, The Kresge Foundation and Paul Capital as well as new LPs Franklin Park, Industriens Pensionsforsikring A/S and Meketa Investment Group, Atlas said.

Atlas also announced the new fund's first investment, stealth cloud computing startup CloudSwitch. Atlas co-led the $7.4 million round. -- Olaf de Senerpont Domis.
