innography.gifIntellectual property management startup Innography Ltd. emerged from stealth mode Monday with the announcement of a $6.5 million Series A round. Austin Ventures led the round with Hunt Ventures.

The Austin, Texas-based startup, which was founded in 2006, develops on-demand software that helps businesses manage, protect and wring revenues out of their IP portfolios. Innography claims that its products help uncover important IP issues when evaluating M&A prospects and reveal potential litigation vulnerabilities. The company said it has 25 customers, including Hewlett-Packard Co. [HPQ]

Innography was seed funded to the tune of $800,000 by Hunt Ventures in July 2007. Hunt managing director Steve Coffey sits on the company's board, as does Austin Ventures' Chris Pacitti. - Olaf de Senerpont Domis
