Meredith backs Real Girls Media

meredith.jpgMedia and marketing company Meredith Corp. [MDP] on Wednesday said it has taken a minority investment in Real Girls Media Network Inc., a San Francisco-based group of social networks. The agreement will boost Meredith Interactive Media's unique visitors to 15 million a month, placing it in the top five of women's networks as measured by ComScore and Quantcast. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Privately held Real Girls Media, founded in 2006, already has backing from 3i Group Plc and Walden Venture Capital. It received a $6 million first round in November 2006. -- Richard Morgan
