Stylesight.com, a provider of style information for the fashion industry, has raised $16 million in Series A financing from Fidelity Ventures. As part of the funding, Fidelity's Larry Chang will take a seat on the company's board of directors.
Stylesight.com was launched in 2004 to help fashion retailers and manufacturers by offering an online platform for fashion research. It provides information on fashion design, trend analysis, forecasting and merchandising and apparel manufacturing. The company's image library has over 2 million images from designer fashion shows around the world, including some from a fashion show on the Brooklyn Bridge Tuesday night that can be seen here.
Stylesight said the new financing will allow it to continue the global roll-out of its business with expanded sales, marketing and client service teams, while also adding to its R&D staff. Though the company is based in New York, it has offices in other fashion meccas such as Paris, Sao Paulo and Hong Kong. -- David Shabelman
