Vipal Monga is a senior writer covering capital markets and Wall Street for The Deal LLC. He also pens the "Follow the Money" column in The Deal newsweekly.
Prior to joining The Deal, Monga was managing editor at Corporate Financing Week, where he also covered Wall Street. He also worked at Bridge News where held several beats from covering Canadian monetary policy to politics to asset management in the United States. He has also contributed freelance stories to several newspapers and magazines, such as Globe and Mail and The India Magazine.
Monga received a bachelors of arts degree in journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

MARSHALL A. HEINBERG Managing Director, Head of Investment Banking Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.
Marshall Heinberg is head of the Oppenheimer Investment Banking Department and a Senior Managing Director of the firm. Mr. Heinberg began his investment banking career in 1987 as an Associate in the Corporate Finance Division of Oppenheimer & Company, which was acquired by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in 1997. Over the course of his career, Mr. Heinberg has held responsibility for various sectors including environmental, industrial growth, technology and telecommunications. His transaction experience includes public and private financings, exclusive sale and strategic advisory assignments, as well as the rendering of fairness opinions. Mr. Heinberg was named Head of CIBC's U.S. Investment Banking Department in 2001. Upon the acquisition of CIBC's U.S. wholesale business in 2008, Mr. Heinberg was named head of Oppenheimer's Investment Banking Department. In addition to his responsibilities within the Investment Banking Department, Mr. Heinberg is a member of Oppenheimer's Management Committee, the Equity Transaction Committee, the Financial Advisory Transaction Committee, and the Deals Committee.
Mr. Heinberg graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School with honors, with a degree in economics. He received his law degree from Fordham Law School.
ANTHONY POLAZZI Principal Sun Capital
Anthony G. Polazzi, Principal, has over ten years experience in private equity and leveraged finance. Prior to joining Sun Capital Partners, Mr. Polazzi worked as an Associate in the Leveraged Finance Group of CIBC World Markets, specializing in acquisition financing and leveraged buyouts. He has been involved in the execution of over 75 buyout and financing transactions including corporate divestitures, strategic rollups, restructurings, syndicated loan issuances, high yield debt issuances, and distressed debt purchases. He received dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Mathematics from Claremont McKenna College.
 PHILIP RICHTER Partner Fried Frank
Philip Richter is a corporate partner resident in Fried Frank's New York office. He joined the Firm in 1994 and became a partner in 2002.
Mr. Richter represents clients in mergers and acquisitions transactions involving both public and private companies, minority investments, proxy fights and unsolicited proposals, and strategic partnerships and joint ventures.
He also advises on corporate governance issues, defensive strategy, securities law compliance and other general corporate matters, and frequently represents investment banking firms serving in a financial advisory role. Matters in which he has been involved include the unsolicited offer and related proxy fight for International Rectifier Corporation by Vishay Intertechnology, Inc.; the acquisition by Fresenius SA of APP Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; a proxy fight involving Media General Inc.; the sale of Dow Jones & Co., Inc. to News Corporation; the merger of BellSouth Corporation and AT&T Inc.; the unsolicited offer (and related proxy fight) by a consortium of investors to acquire Beverly Enterprises, Inc.; and American BioScience, Inc.'s merger with its affiliate, American Pharmaceutical Products, Inc., to form Abraxis BioScience, Inc.

Since the firm's founding in 1991, Mr. Williams has led Harris Williams & Co. to become one of the largest and most influential mergers and acquisitions boutiques in the country. With nearly 20 years of transactional experience, Mr. Williams has completed over 200 assignments involving either mergers and acquisitions or capital raising activities. Prior to co-founding Harris Williams & Co., Mr. Williams was with Bowles Hollowell Conner & Co.
Mr. Williams earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from Washington & Lee University.
