The Deal FAQ

Why are TheStreet and The Deal coming together?

Together we will become better positioned to meet the needs of current and future clients. The Deal's audience of leading private equity firms, law firms, investment banks and hedge funds will benefit from TheStreet's ability to provide actionable ideas coupled with The Deal's continuing delivery of sophisticated coverage of the transactional space.

Will TheStreet and The Deal be merging products?

TheStreet's buy-side newsroom content will be incorporated into The Deal Pipeline to provide even better coverage for event-driven firms in the near future. The Deal's content-rich webinars will be offered to TheStreet's customers.

Can you tell me more about what is happening to The Deal magazine?

Readers have been telling us that our coverage of the deal markets would best be delivered in a digital format to allow for more actionable integration into their business development efforts. We are responding by selecting thought-provoking articles on a weekly basis and delivering them via a digital newsletter. For any magazine subscribers who do not have a license to The Deal Pipeline, we will be offering an exclusive trial to the service starting in September.

When is the last issue of The Deal magazine?

The September 3 issue of The Deal magazine was the last issue of the publication. Starting October 1 readers will be introduced to the new weekly e-newsletter.

So what's next from The Deal?

We have several exciting projects we are working on that will be available in the coming months, including:

  • New features in The Deal Pipeline: Our product team is working on several new enhancements to the service, including the Corporate Dealmaker S&P 500 list - a database of legal and financial advisers to leading corporations and an interactive dealmaking connection tool that will allow you to find links to new business opportunities based on your firm or professional connections. Your account directors and product specialists will be telling you more about these exciting new features as more details become available.
    • Corporate Dealmaker S&P 500: We have been creating a comprehensive directory, complete with contact information, of corporate dealmakers at S&P 500 firms. The first 100 profiles are currently available on The Deal Pipeline; the complete listing will launch later this year.
    • Corporate Dealmaker Adviser Listings: As part of our Corporate Dealmaker listing, we will be listing out past advisers - bankers and lawyers - to those firms. This will be a great directory of who to call and a fantastic opportunity for advisory firms to market themselves to the most prominent dealmakers today.
    • Company Reports: An enhanced packet of articles, deals, advisers and profile information on more than 50,000 companies will be delivered towards the end of the year. These packets will quickly become a "must-have" reference for quickly getting up to speed on a company.
  • The Deal Economy 2013 - Beyond the Election: On November 28 & 29 at the New York Stock Exchange we will be hosting our annual outlook event featuring leading industry practitioners, including James Woolery, co-head of mergers and acquisitions at J.P. Morgan; Paul Parker, chairman and head of the global mergers and acquisitions group at Barclays Capital; Richard Jeanneret, Americas vice chair of transaction advisory services at Ernst & Young; and many more. For the latest details about this event, visit http://www.thedeal.com/dealeconomy2013/.
  • Upcoming Webinars: The Deal has a fantastic lineup of webinars offered on a complimentary basis to viewers this fall with topics ranging from M&A in Brazil to Corporate Development Strategy to dealmaking in the election year and private equity portfolio performance.
