In a slow-growth economy, a corporate dealmaker's margin for error shrinks, making corporate development best practices more important than ever. When it comes to the crucial process of post-deal integration, this translates into a need for thoughtful planning, strong leadership and rigorous execution. At the same time, some of the most significant integrations now under way require innovative approaches that reflect learning from past mistakes. What are the biggest challenges dealmakers face as they work to mesh organizations, realize synergies, and deliver on the promise of the deal?

On May 2nd, with the help of leading corporate dealmakers and M&A advisers, we'll aim to answer these and other critical questions facing strategic dealmakers as they fine-tune their strategies for 2013. As Director of Product Marketing, Mr. Collins is responsible for driving the growth of IntraLinks' Corporate Development platform, including the company's offerings for facilitating both buyside and sellside transactions.

Prior to joining IntraLinks, Mr. Collins served as Director of Corporate Development for Cognizant Technology Solutions, a leading global provider of IT services solutions. While at Cognizant he was responsible for evaluating and executing a variety of strategic initiatives, but was primarily focused on driving growth through acquisitions.

Before Cognizant, Mr. Collins was a Vice President with Innovation Advisors, a boutique investment bank focused on providing advisory services for mergers and acquisitions in the technology industry. He also worked at SG Cowen Securities in both their Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions practices.

Mr. Collins graduated with honors from Harvard University with a B.A. in Government.

Susan is the Vice President of Corporate Development, Acquisition Integration and Operations at Cisco. She leads a team responsible for enabling maximum value capture from the companies Cisco acquires in support of its "build, buy and partner" innovation strategy.

In her role, Susan acts as an advisor to acquisition sponsors and acquired executives and their teams. Her responsibilities begin early in the development of the acquisition strategy, where there is not only a focus on a strong business case, but also the compatibility of core values, alignment on the vision and strategy of the combined entity and agreement on the high level integration approach and roadmap.

Susan joined the company in 2000 and has worked in the finance, services and manufacturing organizations, joining Corporate Development in 2006. Prior to Cisco, she held key roles with the Clorox Company and Harman International.

Cisco's Acquisition Integration practice has been acknowledged as an industry leader, most recently in CFO magazine, The Deal magazine and Frost & Sullivan's Best Practice Guidebook. Susan was recognized in 2012 as a Working Mother of the Year by Working Mother magazine.

Over the last 15 years, as both a Corporate Development executive and an M&A consultant, Angus has supported hundreds of transactions--integrations, divestitures, joint ventures--in multiple sectors, including Healthcare, Consumer Goods, Energy, Technology and Life Sciences. His experience is focused on pre-close strategy and planning and post-close execution, including synergy realization, communications and human capital strategies, enterprise risk mitigation, and new growth strategy development.

His thought leadership has been featured in The Deal and Financier Worldwide, and he has presented on the subject of M&A leading practices at conferences including the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), the Private Equity Analysts conference, the Merrill Lynch Private Equity CFO Conference and the Stanford Law School and University of Chicago Business School M&A Forums.

Steve Stubitz joined Riverside in 2012 as an Operating Partner. Mr. Stubitz previously was a Principal on the Operating Team at American Capital, focused on IT and business services companies. Prior to that, Mr. Stubitz was the General Manager and Director for Hewlett Packard's Business Process Outsourcing group. Mr. Stubitz is a veteran of the business services, technology and outsourcing industry and is an expert in leveraging off-shore and near-shore models to improve the performance of business-services companies. Prior to Hewlett Packard, Mr. Stubitz served as a senior executive in two startup companies and was at Keane for six years and at IBM for 10 years. Mr. Stubitz began his career at Accenture. He has an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago, and both bachelor's and master's degrees in industrial and enterprise systems engineering from the University of Illinois.
