"The private equity investor that spends time in Brazil and gets to know
medium-sized $50 million to $200 million Brazilian companies is going
to find some gems to invest in," says Thomas Bonney, founder and
managing director of CMF Associates, in The Deal magazine's special
video series, Globalization of Private Equity, sponsored by Merrill
DataSite. Bonney recently conducted an informal survey of dozens of
private equity firms and tells The Deal magazine that "consumer-oriented
opportunities are going to be significant," as will manufacturing and
distribution deals within Brazil, particularly as the country prepares
to host the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016. For more
