The Deal
Suzanne Miller is an editor overseeing all coverage of corporate dealmaking, including the strategies and dealmakers who initiate M&A transactions. She also manages the Most Admired Corporate Dealmakers project, writes a column in The Deal magazine and leads the Corporate Dealmaker database effort. Most recently, Suzanne has followed developments in regulating OTC derivatives and the market transition to clearinghouses and exchanges.
Prior to joining The Deal LLC, Suzanne was an editor and senior writer at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. She was also a senior writer at AllianceBernstein, where she wrote about fixed income, the economy and developing markets. Before that she spent time as a contributing editor at The Banker, a Financial Times publication, and wrote for Investment Dealers' Digest, Institutional Investor, the New York Post and Breakingviews. She was previously the London bureau chief at CBS MarketWatch, where she launched and supervised a four-member news bureau and oversaw breaking news and features about business, finance and politics in Europe.

Angela Tucci is senior vice president and chief strategy officer at Symantec, responsible for
corporate development and strategy. Tucci directs Symantec's overall
corporate strategy, Symantec's mergers and acquisitions, corporate
venture investing and strategic partnerships.
Tucci joined Symantec from NEON Enterprise Software, where she held the
position of chief strategy officer and was responsible for the
development and execution of NEON's corporate strategy and market
direction. While at NEON, she also held the post of chief executive
officer of Compliance Spectrum, an IT governance, risk management and
compliance company. Previously, Tucci co-founded Terraspring, a pioneer
in cloud computing, and later co-founded Indicative Software, acquired
by CA/Nimsoft.
Tucci has more than 15 years of executive management experience in the technology sector. Tucci holds a master's degree in business from Stanford University as well as a bachelor's degree in physics from Princeton University.
John Zieser

John S. Zieser serves as chief development officer and general counsel of Meredith Corp.
He
is responsible for managing the company's business development
function, as well as legal affairs, corporate communications and
government relations. Zieser is also secretary to the Meredith board of
directors. Zieser has led Meredith's business and strategic initiatives,
including the $350 million purchase of the magazine franchises of
Bertelsmann AG (Parents, Family Circle, Fitness, Ser Padres and Child).
He also headed several recent acquisitions of online marketing services
and data analytics firms, resulting in the transformation of Meredith's
high-growth integrated marketing business.
Leading the company's
international business initiatives, Zieser oversees 35 licensing
partnerships with major non-U.S. media partners around the globe.
Earning his law degree from Cornell University, he graduated magna cum
laude and served as senior editor of the Law Review. Additionally,
Zieser earned both an M.B.A. and a bachelor's degree in business
administration from the University of Iowa.
Mel Niemeyer

Mel Niemeyer is a partner in the transaction services practice of PwC. He has over 15 years of experience focused exclusively on advising financial and strategic buyers in public and private deals concentrating on complex domestic and international transactions, carveouts and disposals ranging from $10 million to $10 billion. He is also the central U.S. practice leader for transaction services, based in Chicago. Niemeyer is dedicated to developing deep understanding of his client's situations. He helps clients in identifying and mitigating risk prior to the transaction, and in capturing value at the table and post-transaction.
Leveraging his specialized knowledge of transaction strategy and execution, Mel successfully guides senior leaders when they are considering acquisitions and divestitures as part of their growth strategy. Mel brings focused technical expertise in leading due diligence investigations on the buy- and -sell side for healthy and distressed companies, advising clients on transaction structure, purchase price adjustments and disputes, and assisting clients plan and execute integrations focused on realizing synergies identified in diligence. His breadth of industry experience includes advising Corporate and Private Clients evaluate targets in the industrial products, manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, and business services sectors. He also draws on international perspective, having led cross-border acquisition teams in evaluating transactions in Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Spain and United Kingdom. He has an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. from the University of Missouri. He is a CPA
licensed in Missouri and Illinois.
