In Washington, Jones Day said William O'Reilly
rejoined the firm as a partner. He left the firm, where he served from
1986 through 2005, to serve as chief counsel and staff director of the
Committee on Standards of Official Conduct of the U.S. House of
Representatives from 2006 to 2008.
O'Reilly focuses on complex litigation in antitrust, contract and other commercial disputes as well as corporate criminal, governmental and congressional investigations.
Oak Hill Advisors LP said Goran Puljic, T.K. Narayan and Scott Snell joined the firm's structured products group to focus on investment opportunities in the credit markets. They joined from Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., where they managed about $2 billion in structured credit assets, through both third party fund vehicles and proprietary capital within Lehman Brothers Private Equity.
Managing director Puljic and principal Serrano co-lead the structured products group. Snell is a vice president.
Puljic was head of the structured credit investment group at Lehman Brothers PE for six years and was a managing director at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he worked for nine years.
Silver Lake tapped Hidetaka Fukuda as a special adviser. Fukuda, based in Tokyo, joined the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in 1981 and was responsible for technology and industrial policy for strategic industries including semiconductors, electronics, telecommunication equipment and flat panel displays. In 2006, Fukuda launched e-conservo, a consulting firm.
NewOak Capital appointed Vincent Truglia as a managing director of global economic research. Most recently, Truglia was managing partner of WHAnalysis.com and managing director of the sovereign risk unit at Moody's Investors Service. Earlier he worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in the bank supervision area.
Deutsche Bank AG's global institutional asset management business, DB Advisors, made Kyle Delaney head of the division in the Americas. Delaney, a managing director based in New York, reports to Roelfien Kuijpers, global head of DB Advisors.
Delaney joins DB Advisors from Deutsche Bank's private wealth management division, where he was a regional head of private banking and a member of PWM's U.S. executive committee. Before this, he worked at Banc of America Securities LLC and Morgan Stanley, overseeing business operations in Asia, California and Washington.
Steven Marder became a media industry adviser for Avista Capital Partners. Marder is now chairman and co-founder and (former CEO) of Eurekster Inc., an Internet technology company in the social search and discovery market.
Houston-based litigation firm Hicks Thomas LLP opened an office in Sacramento, Calif. Eric Grant will lead it, focusing on constitutional and complex litigation, principally at the appellate level. Grant has worked in the office of legal counsel of the Department of Justice.
Roland Montfort joined Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP as a partner in its business and finance practice, resident in Paris. Prior to joining French firm Lefèvre Pelletier & Associés, where he coordinated the mergers and acquisitions practice, he was a partner with Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.
Three associates arrive with him: Véronique Deau, Olivier Kodjo and Amélie de Valroger.
Latham & Watkins LLP said Andrew Tarbuck will join its Dubai office as a partner in the corporate department. Tarbuck is a corporate finance partner, specializing in equity capital markets transactions for both issuers and banks. Tarbuck joins from Norton Rose LLP, where he worked both in the London and Dubai offices.
Bingham McCutchen LLP added three lawyers to its Japanese finance practice. Joining Bingham as of counsel are Kenji Hirooka and Ryota Sekine, both formerly of O'Melveny & Myers LLP's Tokyo office, and Toshikazu Sakai, formerly of Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu.
K&L Gates LLP welcomed three new partners to its commercial litigation practice: David Coale and Ann Marie Arcadi join the Dallas office from Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal LLP, while Lani Adler joins the New York office from WolfBlock LLP.
Winston & Strawn LLP said labor and employment litigator Maria Rodriguez joined its Los Angeles office as a partner. Rodriguez was a partner with Seyfarth Shaw LLP.
Legal search firm Major, Lindsey & Africa LLC has enlisted Mari Horita as a managing director in its Seattle office, covering partner moves. Horita began her legal career at Bogle & Gates and later moved to Dorsey & Whitney LLP and then K&L Gates LLP, where she practiced real estate and corporate law.
Before MLA, Horita was part of the commercial leasing practice at Opus Law Group.
