Moelis & Co. said Mark Aedy will join the firm in June as head of Europe, Middle East and Africa investment banking, based in London. He will also join the management committee. Aedy was head of EMEA corporate and investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Before that, he held several senior management positions at Merrill Lynch & Co. in EMEA, including as head of investment banking and head of multi industries. Before joining Merrill in 2000, Aedy was a managing director at Deutsche Bank AG and Bankers Trust NA.
Also in June, Rick Landgarten will join Moelis as a managing director in New York to lead the firm's healthcare coverage. He moves from Citigroup Inc., where he served as managing director and co-head of global healthcare investment banking.
This month, Steve Panagos is joining Moelis as a managing director and vice chairman of its recapitalization and restructuring group. Panagos spent 20 years at Zolfo Cooper -- formerly Kroll Zolfo Cooper -- serving as the national practice leader of its corporate advisory and restructuring practice.
Credit Suisse Group appointed 18 senior professionals to its institutional distribution team. Nine are managing directors. Jamal Al-Naif in Dubai is responsible for institutional client coverage in the Middle East and North Africa. Al-Naif joined from Citigroup Inc., where he was the head of its Middle East institutional effort. New Yorker Richard Johnson covers institutions in the Eastern and Central U.S. He joined from Graham Capital Management, where he was a managing director, principal and global head of strategic business development. Remy Kawkabani of London covers institutional distribution in Europe (ex-Switzerland). Kawkabani was global co-head of Credit Suisse's private funds group.
Dave McCann, Toronto, handles Canadian institutional clients. He joined from the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board. Londonite Mark Memmert covers institutions in Germany and Austria. Memmert focused on the syndication of senior and mezzanine real estate loans to German financial institutions at Credit Suisse's investment bank.
Alex Ricchebuono in London covers institutions in France and Italy. Ricchebuono joins in early May from Investec Asset Management, where he handled distribution in continental Europe. Also joining in May is Filo Sedillo of Sydney, to cover the Australian and New Zealand institutional markets. Sedillo was head of alternative investments for Australia and New Zealand at Citigroup. Tokyo-based Akira Takahashi is responsible for institutional distribution in Japan. Takahashi was head of distribution for alternative investments in Japan and was a product specialist in the funds and alternative solutions group within asset management at Credit Suisse.
Finally, Conrad Yan, working from Hong Kong, covers institutional distribution in Asia Pacific. Yan joined from American International Group Inc., where he was a managing director and regional head of business development and client service.
Mark Bourgeois is a managing director in Credit Suisse's asset management business, based in New York. He is head of global distribution for asset management and joined CS in September from Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., where he was co-head of global distribution and head of alternatives distribution.
