Movers & shakers: May 5, 2009

SandraLeeMovers.pngMorgan Stanley Investment Management hired Sandra Lee as head of sales and marketing in Asia, replacing Tony Archer.

At Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking, Lee (pictured) was CEO of the global equities and derivatives solutions group in China.


American Century Investments opened an Asia-Pacific sales office in Hong Kong and hired Tony Archer to lead it as business head, Asia-Pacific. Archer joined from Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he was a managing director for Asia sales and head of the institutional advisory group for Asia-Pacific.


Bill Dobson will join Deutsche Bank AG's Americas leveraged debt capital markets team as a managing director on the loan trading platform. He led the par loan trading effort at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and also held that position at Wachovia Capital Markets LLC. Dobson will report to Peter Benoist, head of loan trading Americas.

David Ross, co-head of Americas loan and high-yield capital markets, will return to London, where he becomes head of loan trading for Europe, Middle East and Africa, reporting to Gerald Walker, global head of loan trading and sales.


Amherst Securities Group LP brought in Ryan Mullaney, a former managing director at RBS Greenwich Capital, to manage its Chicago office. Joining him are Michael Brunso, Michael Carothers and Ryan Clinton; all are senior vice presidents in sales. Mullaney joins as a senior managing director. Before RBS Greenwich, he worked at Merrill Lynch & Co. for nine years as director and head of the Midwest bank and thrift sales group.

Brunso was a managing director of mortgage- and asset-backed securities sales at RBS Greenwich. Carothers was also a managing director in MBS and ABS sales. Clinton was a managing director specializing in structured product sales.


In New York, Houlihan, Lokey, Howard & Zukin Inc. hired Terence Flynn as a managing director of corporate finance to co-head the financing group and focus on structured private placements for public and private companies. He also does capital markets advisory work. He reports to Scott Adelson and Bob Hotz, global co-heads of investment banking.

Flynn arrived from UBS Investment Bank, where he was head of alternative capital markets.
