Before Moelis, Kutay was a managing director and head of the financial solutions group at Sun Group Advisors. Earlier, he spent 18 years at Morgan Stanley, where he was chairman of the European healthcare group.

Expanding its Americas industrials team, Deutsche Bank AG hired Greg Starkins as a managing director and head of aerospace and defense in the U.S. He held the same role with Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Starkins began his investment banking career in 1996 at Merrill Lynch in the mergers and acquisitions group. At Deutsche, he reports to Paul Stefanick, global head of industrials.

Portfolio risk manager Karlheinz Muhr launched an asset management firm, Cenario Capital Management LLC. Muhr is the co-founder and former CEO of Volaris Advisors, which Credit Suisse Group acquired in 2003.

Cenario's co-founders and management team include former Volaris veterans Steve Van Besien and Stuart Rosenthal, and Michael Salerno, the founder of Latus Capital Management. The firm has offices in New York and Princeton, N.J.

Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc said Brian Hartzer will join RBS and take over for Gordon Pell as the executive committee member responsible for the U.K. retail, wealth and Ulster Bank business divisions. He arrives from Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Ltd., where he was CEO, Australia and global segment lead for retail.

Paul Geddes will join the executive committee as CEO of the market leading general insurance businesses. He currently runs the U.K. retail business reporting to Pell. That business will now report to Hartzer.

Chris Sullivan, now chief executive of RBS Insurance, will take over from Alan Dickinson as CEO of the U.K. corporate banking division. The global transaction services division run by Brian Stevenson will also report to him.
