Movers & shakers: June 1, 2009

Investment banking boutique Evercore Partners Inc. added Robert Pacha to its advisory practice as a senior managing director to lead the firm's midstream energy practice. Pacha will also establish Evercore's Houston office. Pacha was a managing director at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he led the firm's midstream energy and MLP practice.

Most notably, Pacha advised MarkWest Hydrocarbons Inc. in its sale to MarkWest Energy Partners LP; Energy Transfer Equity LP on its acquisition of an 18.7% stake in Energy Transfer Partners LP and 50% of the Class B interests in Energy Transfer Partners GP LP. Pacha also aided Targa Resources Inc. on its acquisition of Dynegy Midstream LP.


Evercore recently recruited George Ackert and Mark Friedman from BofA Merrill, along with Robert Gillespie, former vice chairman of UBS Investment Bank.


WolfgangKleinMovers.pngWolfgang Klein, chairman of Deutsche Postbank AG, will step down on June 30 after a disagreement with the board over strategy. Stefan Jütte, who also in charge of Postbank's corporate banking business, will replace him.

Also, Mario Daberkow, who was executive manager for Postbank's transaction banking business, has replaced chief operating officer Dirk Berensmann.
