by Baz Hiralal  |  Published June 9, 2009 at 12:00 AM

Private equity firm Advent International hired Bob Wigley as an operating partner to advise on opportunities in financial services in Europe.

Wigley (pictured) was with Merrill Lynch & Co. for 10 years until January, and was chairman of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

A Wall Street Journal report said senior bankers Ken Leet, a former Ford Motor Co. strategic adviser, and Jeff Lubin left Cerberus Capital Management LP. Lubin joined the PE firm in 2005 to establish its European arm.

UBS Investment Bank hired gaming veteran William Newby as a managing director and head of Americas gaming and leisure coverage in the real estate investment banking group. Based in Los Angeles, he reports to Jackson Hsieh, global head of real estate investment banking. Newby joins from Bank of America Corp., where he was senior client manager for Banc of America Securities LLC's gaming and leisure group. Newby spent eight years on the board of directors for the American Gaming Association.
