Movers & shakers: May 3, 2011

Ethan Topper (pictured) will join Citigroup Inc. as a managing director and global head of technology banking. Based in Palo Alto, Calif., he will report to Ben Druskin and Mark Shafir, co-heads of global technology, media and telecom banking.

Prior to co-founding Union Square Advisors LLC, Topper was a senior managing director at Credit Suisse Group, where he headed the global technology mergers and acquisitions group. From 1996 to 1998, Topper was a managing director and head of West Coast M&A for the Deutsche Morgan Grenfell technology group. He began his banking career in 1989 in Morgan Stanley's M&A department.


Fehmi Zeko was appointed a senior managing director and head of U.S. media and telecommunications for Macquarie Capital, based in New York. Most recently, he was a vice chairman at Foros Group LLC, responsible for its media and communications advisory practice. Previously, Zeko was vice chairman of Deutsche Bank AG's global investment bank and chairman, global media and telecom. He joined DB in 2006 from Citigroup Inc., where he was group head of global media and co-head, global communications.
