John Collins is returning to Morgan Stanley as global operations officer for investment banking, reporting to Mark Eichorn and Franck Petitgas, global co-heads of investment banking. Since July 2010, Collins was with Moelis & Co.'s New York office, where he was a managing director in general industrials. Before that, with Morgan, he was a managing director in the mergers and acquisitions group and also worked in the real estate group in London and New York. Collins first joined Morgan Stanley in 1990 and was named a managing director in 2004.


Oak Hill Capital Management promoted Tyler J. Wolfram from partner to managing partner of the firm. Since joining the firm in 2001, Wolfram has led the investments in the consumer, retail and distribution vertical, and he has been a member of the executive and investment committees. He has managed private equity investments in companies, including Dave & Buster's Inc. ($570 million in 2009), Duane Reade Holdings Inc. ($747.5 million in 2004) and Oreck Corp., among others.


Independent advisory and execution firm Stream Capital SA hired Katherine Hill as a director, covering secondary alternative investment fund transfers for the Geneva office. She will focus on hedge funds and private equity funds and work on capital raising for alternative funds. Most recently with Private Capital Consulting, Hill was also a consultant at Palladio Alternative Research as well as a senior hedge fund analyst at Saad Financial Services.

Hill has worked in Geneva and New York.


European private equity and real estate investor Patron Capital Partners enlisted Georg von Hammerstein as a senior adviser, focusing on German investments. For the past 14 years, von Hammerstein worked for Pramerica Real Estate Investors, spending the past six years as European chief investment officer. Prior to Pramerica, he was with Helaba and real estate subsidiaries of Commerzbank AG and Deutsche Bank AG.


Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc said Bruce Van Saun, currently group finance director, will become chairman and chief executive of RBS Citizens Financial Group Inc., replacing Ellen Alemany, who will retire after more than five years at Citizens. Nathan Bostock, currently chief risk officer, will be group finance director. He will be replaced by deputy CRO David Stephen. The appointments are effective in October, when Bostock will replace Van Saun as an executive director of RBS. All will be members of the group executive committee.

Van Saun was finance director since October 2009 and, since late 2008, was an adviser to U.S. private equity firms. From 1997 to 2008, he worked at Bank of New York and then Bank of New York Mellon Corp., most recently as vice chairman and chief financial officer.

Bostock rejoined RBS in June 2009 from Santander UK plc, where he was CFO and a main board director.

Stephen joined RBS in July 2010. He worked at Credit Suisse Financial Products as chief credit officer and at ANZ Bank as group CRO.


KeyCorp's chief financial officer of 11 years, Jeffrey B. Weeden, plans to retire on June 30. KeyCorp is looking for a replacement.


Latham & Watkins LLP hired partners Harald Selzner, Rainer Wilke, Markus Rieder and Martin Neuhaus from Shearman & Sterling LLP and will open an office in Düsseldorf, Germany. They have counseled on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions and disputes matters. Selzner, Wilke and Neuhaus will head the new office. Rieder will be based in Latham's Munich office.


Bingham McCutchen LLP added an investment funds team in Tokyo. Christopher Wells and Tomoko Fuminaga join as partners in the investment management group, along with five additional lawyers, including counsel Carol Tsuchida and associate Koji Yamamoto.

Wells and Fuminaga headed the investment funds and regulatory team at White & Case LLP.


Hunton & Williams LLP added Brent Lewis to its New York office as counsel in its corporate practice. Lewis joins the firm from Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP and has a background in the residential mortgage-backed securities market. He has also served as issuer's and underwriter's counsel in commercial mortgage-backed securities transactions.

Kevin Buckley, co-head of the structured finance and securitization group, noted in a firm announcement that "the structured capital markets industry is picking up activity."
