Greenhill & Co. is expanding in Europe, adding three managing directors and opening a Stockholm office.

Anthony Parsons will be a senior member of Greenhill's U.K. advisory team, based in London. He previously worked at Deutsche Bank AG and its predecessors for 12 years, most recently as vice chairman, U.K. mergers and acquisitions. Prior to that, Parsons spent seven years at Citigroup Inc., where he was a managing director and co-head of European financial institutions M&A.

Mats Bremberg will join the firm in Stockholm and work with Greenhill managing director Jacob Spens. Bremberg was most recently head of Nordic investment banking at Citigroup, where he spent five years. Previously, he was with Carnegie Investment Banking for 10 years, where he was head of investment banking. Bremberg also spent five years at Morgan Stanley, focused on the European telecom sector.

Luca Ferrari will arrive in August as co-head of European corporate advisory, based in London. Ferrari was head of M&A for Northern Europe at Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he worked for 12 years and was a partner. Before Goldman, he spent a decade at S.G. Warburg & Co.


Credit Suisse Group named John Cogan and Ahmad Masud co-heads of Americas power and utilities investment banking. Cogan joined the firm when the bank merged with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Inc. in 2000. Masud has been with CS since 1994.


Pacific Crest Securities added managing directors Rodd Langenhagen and Tom Olivier to its software investment banking team in Boston. They were members of Morgan Keegan & Co.'s technology group and its predecessor, Revolution Partners.


At Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA, Juan Asúa will be head of corporate and investment banking, while Jaime Sáenz de Tejada will be head of Spain and Portugal. They replace José Barreiro, who is stepping down for personal reasons.

Also, BBVA hired Paul Lai as head of CIB, Asia. Lai was with CLSA since January 2010, where he was head of investment banking, Hong Kong and Greater China. He was previously with Société Générale SA and was head of Hong Kong investment banking at HSBC plc.


Hogan Lovells recruited corporate partners in Milan: Luca Picone and Francesco Stella joined from Linklaters LLP. The team also includes of counsel Luca Magrini.

Picone spent five years as a partner at Linklaters, and the previous five as a partner at Bonelli Erede Pappalardo. He advises on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and joint ventures.

Stella was a partner at Linklaters since February 2008 and was previously a partner at private equity boutique Gilberti Pappalettera Triscornia e Associati. He advises on joint ventures and M&A, and recently focused on financial institutions.


Bingham McCutchen LLP expanded its technology, life sciences and emerging growth company capabilities in Boston, adding Michael Barron as a partner in the corporate practice. He was a corporate and securities partner at DLA Piper.


Bradley Wine joined Morrison & Foerster LLP as a partner and co-chair of its government contracts group. Wine was a partner and administrative head in the government law and strategy practice at Dickstein Shapiro LLP in Washington.


Alvarez & Marsal added J. Michael Gibbons to its global forensic and dispute services practice as a managing director in Washington. Gibbons was a principal at Deloitte & Touche and an executive vice president for security services at Unisys Corp. Gibbons is also former chief of computer crimes investigations for the Federal Bureau of Investigation.


VelocityShares, a designer of exchange-traded products and tail-risk strategies for institutional investors, hired Daniel Saieh as a managing director and head of Latin American sales. Saieh spent the past 10 years at BlackRock Inc., where he was director of institutional business Latin America.

Director Daniel Aronson and vice president Andrew Hicks recently joined VelocityShares' distribution team from Société Générale SA and Deutsche Bank AG, respectively.
