Advisory firm Foros LLC recruited Matt Russell, formerly a managing director and global head of the technology services practice at Deutsche Bank AG, as a managing director. Prior to his eight years at Deutsche, Russell was a vice president in technology investment banking at Credit Suisse Group for five years.


Morgan Joseph TriArtisan LLC added Timothy Lufkin as a managing director, industrials investment banking. Lufkin was a managing director in the industrials and financial sponsors group at Cowen and Co. LLC. Before that, he was a managing director with FBR Capital Markets Corp., focusing on sell-side and buy-side mergers and acquisitions and raising of public and private capital for companies controlled by financial sponsors. He joined FBR via its purchase of Legacy Partners Group LLC, where he also was a managing director. Lufkin started his career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities Corp., where he spent 10 years.


Cazenove Capital Management Jersey Ltd. tapped Paul Battams as a portfolio manager. Battams spent a dozen years at Lloyds TSB Private Banking, where he had been an investment manager and an equity analyst.


Dresner Partners opened an office in New York, managed by managing director Mitchell Stern. He joined the firm in January, focusing on healthcare. Before that, Stern was a managing director in healthcare investment banking at Morgan Joseph TriArtisan LLC. He also worked at SMH Capital Advisors Inc., Glocap Advisors LLC, Needham & Co. LLC, Schroders plc and Salomon Brothers. Stern also worked in the mergers and acquisitions group at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

The office will originate deals ranging from $10 million to more than $500 million.


Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board chief investment officer Stanley Mavromates Jr. will join Mercer Investments as CIO, Americas. He worked at MassPRIM since 2000.


SAC Capital Advisors LP hired Louis Villa as a portfolio manager. He was most recently a portfolio manager at Edoma Partners LLP and previously worked at Talaris Capital.


Deloitte LLP expanded its asset management practice, adding director Eric Marmoll and principal Peter Poulin.

Marmoll, joining Deloitte Tax LLP, was an executive director at FrontPoint Partners, overseeing tax for hedge funds. Prior to FrontPoint's spin off from Morgan Stanley last year, Marmoll spent 12 years in the tax department, including as executive director for the investment product tax group. He was also global product leader for the private equity investments and other alternative investments, which included the hedge funds, fund-of-funds group, and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney funds. Marmoll previously oversaw the asset management firm tax function and the Van Kampen mutual funds while at Morgan Stanley. He is based in Chicago.

Poulin joins Deloitte & Touche LLP and will lead the operational capital markets advisory practice. Most recently, he spent five years at Brown Brothers Harriman as head of U.S. fund administration and managing director of operations. Poulin is based in Boston.


London's Autonomous Research LLP tapped Guy Moszkowski and Brian Foran to launch Autonomous Research USA, which will begin operations in New York later this year.

Moszkowski will be CEO of the new business, while Foran will be head of regional banks research. Moszkowski joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was a managing director covering U.S. universal and capital markets banks, alternative and other asset classes. Foran hails from Nomura Holdings Inc., where he was a managing director covering regional banks and credit cards. Prior to that, he was a managing director covering regional banks, credit cards and trust banks at Goldman, Sachs & Co.
