Berwin Leighton Paisner recruited mergers and acquisitions lawyer Lisa O'Neill as a partner in its corporate finance practice in London. She was with Allen & Overy LLP .


Michael Richman joined Hunton & Williams LLP as a partner in its bankruptcy, restructuring and creditors' rights practice. He comes to the firm from Patton Boggs LLP , where he was chairman of the bankruptcy practice.


McCarter & English LLP tapped Joseph Fields as special counsel in the insurance coverage practice in New York. Fields joins from Dickstein Shapiro LLP , where he was counsel in the commercial litigation practice in New York.


Duval & Stachenfeld LLP formed a tax practice, adding Stephen Land as a partner in its New York office. Land was head of the U.S. tax practice for Linklaters , where he practiced for 15 years in New York.


Paul Hastings LLP announced that Ashurst 's Ugo Giordano joined the firm as a partner in the finance practice in London. He has covered capital markets, securitization, structured finance, structured products, banking and securities regulation.


Thad Davis and Michael Li -Ming Wong joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP 's San Francisco office as partners. Davis joins as co-chairman of the securities litigation practice, and Wong will be co-chairman of the securities enforcement group and a member of the white-collar defense and investigations group. Both had been with Ropes & Gray LLP since 2008.


PwC US tapped Aaron Weller as a managing director, specializing in data privacy and protection in the risk assurance practice, based in Seattle. Prior to this, Weller co-founded Concise Consulting. Weller began his career as a computer risk manager in the financial services practice of Arthur Andersen in London and worked there until some members of that practice joined Deloitte. He moved to Australia in 2004 and joined Ernst & Young as the security and technology services practice manager before departing with three partners to establish Protiviti in Australia. He was an associate director of security in Protiviti's Melbourne practice until he relocated to the U.S. in 2006 as the Pacific Northwest security and privacy practice lead.


Michelle Larson was named a partner with Forshey Prostok LLP, a Fort Worth-based firm specializing in bankruptcy and bankruptcy litigation. Previously, she was with the Dallas office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP .
