Alan Morton, former director of private equity for Prudential Asset Management Singapore and Prudential Vietnam, joined venture philanthropy firm Impetus Trust as an investment manager. Prior to Prudential, he worked for midmarket private equity firm Silverfleet Capital Partners.


Private asset manager Capital Dynamics named managing director Stefan Ammann as CEO. He replaces founding CEO Thomas Kubr, who remains as executive chairman of the board. Ammann joined the firm in 2002 as chief operating officer and chief financial officer. Earlier, he was CFO of Cosmite Engineering in Switzerland.


Alvarez & Marsal's Alexandre Masson joined Activa Capital as an operating director. Masson spent six years as a director at A&M, working on operational and financial improvement assignments for private equity firms and family-owned companies. He specializes in the retail, manufacturing industry and healthcare sectors. Prior to A&M, he worked for four years as a director at KPMG.


Multi-asset brokerage Newedge Group said Peter Barrowcliff joined its metals desk as global chief operating officer. He joined the London office from Nomura Holdings Inc., where he was most recently working in Asia on futures. He spent the first five years of his career trading at the London Metal Exchange before becoming a senior member of the futures team at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., where he managed the European futures exchange relationships, floor team administration and all futures broker relationships.

Newedge is a 50-50 joint venture between Société Générale SA and Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank.


Associate director Ajay Bijoor joined Peter J. Solomon Co. as a member of the firm's recapitalization and restructuring group. Bijoor came to PJSC from Miller Buckfire & Co. LLC, where he spent six years. Earlier, he worked in the corporate development group of Fisher Scientific Inc. He began his career with Credit Suisse Group.


Allegiance Capital Corp. , a middle-market investment firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, promoted Scott Sims to vice president, leading sell-side transactions.


Deloitte expanded its capital projects practice, adding director Mike Whalen to the Houston office of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP. Whalen was a senior managing director at FTI Consulting Inc. and a principal and national director of construction advisory services at Ernst & Young.


Capstone Advisory Group LLC announced that David Shapiro joined the firm's Chicago office as executive director and head of restructuring for the Midwest region. Shapiro worked at Houlihan Lokey Capital Inc., where he was a senior vice president in the financial restructuring group of the Chicago office. Previously, he worked for Bank of America Corp. and LaSalle Bank as a senior vice president in the special assets groups, managing distressed syndicated loan transactions.


The Brussels office of K&L Gates LLP added Sebastián Romero Melchor as a partner in its food, drugs, medical devices and cosmetics practice. Melchor joins K&L Gates from Food Law Consultants, a Brussels-based boutique firm focused on European Union food and nutrition law, where he was founder and managing partner.


In Brussels, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC brought in Christopher Kuner as senior of counsel. Kuner, experienced in European Union privacy and data protection regulation, was formerly a partner at Hunton & Williams LLP. He also he worked in the Brussels office of Morrison & Foerster LLP and in the Frankfurt and Stuttgart, Germany, offices of Gleiss Lutz . He is chairman of the task force on privacy and the protection of personal data of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris.


Thomas deButts joined the regulatory and government affairs and international trade practices at DLA Piper as a partner in Washington. Previously a partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, deButts focuses on international trade controls, including economic sanctions and export controls related to Export Administration Regulations and International Traffic in Arms Regulations.


Intellectual property lawyer Jeffrey Kobulnick, most recently with Foley & Lardner LLP, joined Woodland Hills, Calif.'s, Ezra Brutzkus Gubner LLP as a partner.


Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP will name 12 partners in October: Lewis Csedrik, energy; Rodrigo Sotomayor, Marc Leduc, Vito Petretti, David-James Sebag and Eric Tajcher, business and finance; Ross Friedman, Blair Robinson and Joyce Taber, labor and employment; Rebecca Hillyer and Martha Stolley, litigation; and Jeffrey Killian, intellectual property.


Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason, Anello & Bohrer PC, a New York litigation boutique, elected Benjamin Fischer and James Stovall as partners of the firm. Fischer represents corporate executives and corporations in business litigation, criminal actions and regulatory investigations. Stovall represents individuals and organizations in civil, criminal and regulatory matters, focusing on white-collar defense and complex civil litigation.
