Gleacher & Co. Securities Inc. hired Randolph Barker as an executive managing director and head of investment banking and capital markets. He was a member of the executive committee of Chapdelaine & Co. Previously, Barker was co-head of the global fixed income, commodities and currencies group at Citigroup Inc. and, prior to that, was head of Citigroup's global credit markets group. He also helped build Citi's leveraged finance group.

Jeffrey Tepper, previously head of investment banking, will leave the firm.


Citadel LLC's Jeffrey Runnfeldt, co-head of global equities, will retire at the end of the month. Runnfeldt joined the Chicago-based hedge fund in 2002 and was named sector head of financials in 2004. He was added to the global equities management committee in 2009. Prior to Citadel, Runnfeldt was with Montgomery Asset Management, where he was a senior analyst in global equity research. Prior to that, he covered financials at BT Alex Brown, First Security Van Kasper and Dain Rauscher Wessels.

Brandon Haley and Steve Weller continue to run equities.


James Learner will join Huntsman Gay Global Capital as a managing partner in Palo Alto, Calif., a tweet from co-founder Rich Lawson has confirmed. "Delighted to welcome Jim on board here as our newest #privateequity partner! Much to do after he unpacks in Palo Alto." [sic]

Learner is a corporate partner in Kirkland & Ellis LLP's London office, representing private equity firms in leveraged buyout and growth capital investing and in their fund formation activities. He has been with Kirkland for 25 years.


In New York, Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. appointed Michael Kim as chief investment officer of its wealth management business. Kim will co-chair BBH's asset allocation committee with chief investment strategist Scott Clemons. Kim began his career at BBH in 1994. Prior to returning to BBH, Kim worked at Willett Advisors, where he focused on the global private equity and global credit hedge fund asset classes for a family office and foundation. He also held investment positions at Headlands Capital Management and Portfolio Logic.


Laurie Muller-Girard was named national director of KeyBank Business Capital. She joined Key in 1996, and for the past nine years was managing director and manager for KeyBanc Capital Markets Syndicated Finance.


Sidley Austin LLP announced that Glenn Nash, formerly of Latham & Watkins LLP, is joining the firm in Palo Alto, Calif., as a partner and global co-head of the technology transactions practice.


Dykema Gossett PLLC added John Dickey to its corporate finance practice as a member in the firm's Dallas office. Prior to Dykema, Dickey was a shareholder with Greenberg Traurig LLP, where he was practice group leader of the Dallas office's corporate and securities section.


Clive Ransome joined Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP as a partner in the firm's global project finance group, based in London. He arrived from Linklaters LLP.


Jones Day tapped oil and gas industry lawyer Scott Schwind, focused on cross-border transactions, for its Houston office as a partner. Formerly a partner at Thompson & Knight LLP, Schwind handles upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas transactions, counseling foreign and domestic companies and individuals.


Morrison & Foerster LLP said intellectual property litigator Johnny Chiu joined its Washington office as a partner. He has represented China- and Taiwan-based technology companies in IP litigation before the International Trade Commission and in U.S. federal and state courts. Chiu was an IP litigation partner in Covington & Burling LLP.


King & Spalding LLP recruited Erika Toussaint for its global disputes practice as a counsel in Houston. At White & Case LLP, Toussaint focused on investor-state arbitration, commercial arbitration as well as commercial litigation and compliance.


Pillar Solutions Group LLC, a consultant to middle market companies and private equity groups, named Kevin McAleer and Jeffrey Margolies partners of the firm. McAleer was executive vice president and chief financial officer of Penson Worldwide Inc., which he retired from in March. Margolies was a partner with Gemma Partners LLC.
