Nomura Holdings Inc. named Samir Patel and Michael Rietbrock as co-heads of Americas equities, replacing Ciaran O'Kelly. Patel handled execution sales and joined the firm in 2009 from Bank of America Corp. Rietbrock arrived from BofA in 2010 as head of U.S. equity research.


Robert W. Baird & Co. added Adam Lefkowitz as a director in its real estate investment banking team, based in McLean, Va. He was a senior vice president in the real estate investment banking group at FBR & Co., where he spent five years and focused on the lodging and gaming industries.

Lefkowitz was director of capital planning for Mills Corp., a formerly publicly traded real estate investment trust that developed, owned and operated super-regional shopping malls. He began his career in the lodging sector working for Marriott International Inc.


Dalia Cohen and Eric Storch joined Oak Hill Advisors LP as managing directors. Cohen is head of investor relations, a new position in the client coverage group. Storch's responsibilities relate to the firm's business development, client coverage and marketing activities.

Cohen joins OHA from JLL Partners, where she was head of marketing and client coverage. She was previously a managing director of marketing and investor relations at Trimaran Advisors LLC and chief financial officer of a credit hedge fund managed by Trian Credit Partners. Prior to that, Cohen was a vice president in corporate development for DoubleClick Inc. She started her career at Morgan Stanley in the mergers, acquisitions and restructuring group in New York and Hong Kong. Later, she was a research analyst in the global high-yield department.

Storch joined OHA from the customized credit strategies group of GSO Capital Partners LP, the credit arm of Blackstone Group LP, where he was a managing director and co-head of institutional marketing. He also worked at Seix Investment Advisors LLC as head of alternatives and structured products. Before that, Storch was a fixed-income portfolio manager at MBIA Asset Management and Kidder Peabody Inc.


Closed-end management investment firm Avenue Income Credit Strategies Fund named Jeffrey Gary as portfolio manager, effective in November. Gary is a senior portfolio manager of Avenue Capital Management II LP, the fund's investment adviser, which he joined in 2011. He is also the portfolio manager of Avenue Credit Strategies Fund, an open-end mutual fund managed by the adviser and a series of Avenue Mutual Funds Trust.

Also, Stephen Atkins, controller of the adviser, was named treasurer and chief financial officer of the fund.


D.A. Davidson & Co. hired Stephen Nelson and Eugene Katz as managing directors in the financial institutions group, focusing on banks and thrifts. They will advise clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital market transactions and other strategic advisory assignments. They were managing directors at Hovde Financial Inc.


Maria Ricci became a senior managing director and member of KStone Partners LLC, a privately owned asset management company that provides absolute return funds of hedge funds to institutions and high-net-worth investors.

She worked in institutional research sales at Bloomberg and was a director of institutional research sales at Instinet LLC.


Haynes and Boone LLP added partners Daren Domina and Madelyn Calabrese to the firm's investment funds and private equity practice in New York. They previously practiced at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.


Bryan Cave LLP announced that Mal Serure joined the firm's New York office as a partner in the real estate group. He spent the past six years at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP.


Steptoe & Johnson LLP took on Richard Battaglia, former senior counsel for regulatory compliance at BP America Inc., as senior counsel in the international regulation and compliance group. He is based in Chicago but will also work from Washington; London; Brussels; Century City, Calif.; and Los Angeles. Battaglia will also support the firm's internal investigations, providing guidance on mergers and acquisitions due diligence and corporate best practices across several industries.


The Dubai office of K&L Gates LLP welcomed Natalie Boyd as a partner in its finance practice. She joins the firm from Simmons & Simmons LLP. She advises on structured credit and debt capital markets products, as well as bank lending, regulatory, derivatives and Islamic finance matters.

Her clients include U.S. and international banks and investment funds, fund managers and trustees, manufacturers and stock exchanges.


Ridgemont Equity Partners, a middle-market buyout and growth equity firm, promoted Yeatts Anderson and Tim Dillon to vice presidents.

In 2010, the former Banc of America Capital Investors private equity team spun off from Bank of America Corp. to form Ridgemont Equity.
