Lehman Brothers Inc. made Eric Felder and Hyung Soon Lee global co-heads of fixed income. Also, Riccardo Banchetti and Christian Meissner were named co-CEOs of Europe and the Middle East. All join the firm's executive committee. Jeremy Isaacs, who was CEO for Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific since 2000, has decided to retire at year's end. Andrew Morton, global head of fixed income since February, and Benoit Savoret, chief operating officer of Europe and the Middle East since May 2007, have decided to leave Lehman to pursue other interests. Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking named Liz Hogan and Jerome Jacques co-heads of fixed income, currencies and commodities for the Americas, replacing Paolo Taddonio, who decided to leave SG to pursue outside interests. Replacing Hogan and Jacques in their previous positions are Paul Birckel, now head of treasury for the Americas, and James Ahern, head of capital market finance for the region. Merrill Lynch & Co. hired merger expert Dick Barrett and Mark Ellman as vice chairmen, based in New York and reporting to Andrea Orcel, head of global origination. They will focus on capital raising and merger advisory activities. Both join from Barrett Ellman Stoddard Capital Partners, a financial services firm they founded in 2005. Before that, they were joint heads of the global financial institutions practice at Credit Suisse Group. Barrett was also at Salomon Brothers for nearly 20 years, most recently as head of global investment banking. He led the financial institutions groups at UBS and Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette. Ellman began his career in accounting and law before becoming an investment banker at Wasserstein Perella and Morgan Stanley. After that, he became head of insurance investment banking at UBS and DLJ before moving to CS. David Boutry joined Deutsche Bank AG as a managing director in financial sponsors coverage Americas. Boutry was previously a senior managing director at Bear, Stearns & Co. In New York, Morgan Joseph & Co. added two executives to its structured products group. Michael Ice, most recently a managing director with HSBC Bank plc, becomes a managing director at Morgan Joseph. Peeyush Varshney, previously with Goldman, Sachs & Co.'s structured credit, fixed income currency and commodities division, joined the firm as a senior vice president. Ice was with Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc. from 1983 through 1988, ultimately serving as vice president and head of CMO trading. Later, he was head of fixed income sales in London for Merrill Lynch & Co., global head of fixed income and derivatives in London for Rabobank International, head of North America marketing, structuring and sales for UBS Warburg LLC, and head of the financial institutions sales group at Dresdner Kleinwort. Citadel Investment Group LLC made four senior hires to bolster its mortgage and securitized products business. Glenn Perillo will join as head of securitized products research, reporting to Patrik Edsparr, head of global fixed income and CEO of Citadel Europe. Perillo was with BlackRock Inc. for 10 years, where he led mortgage research and modeling initiatives and previously was head of mortgage research and co-head of financial modeling. The other new hires include mortgage portfolio managers: Kevin Scherer, who co-founded and was a partner with Midway Group and was previously with Credit Lyonnais; Brian McDonald, a managing director and senior portfolio manager from J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.'s ABS principal investment group; and Rajan Dabholkar, who has worked at Proxima Alfa Investments, J.P. Morgan and Credit Suisse Group. They are based in New York. RBC Capital Markets appointed Scott Moskowitz to its global investment banking group. He joins as a managing director based in New York, reporting to Peter de Vos, head of U.S. investment banking. Moskowitz will work closely with RBC's communications, media and entertainment group, technology group and RBC Daniels. Moskowitz spent more than 15 years with Bear Stearns Cos., most recently as a senior managing director and global head of its technology, media and telecom group. Over the summer, RBC brought in Jim Wolfe as head of U.S. leveraged finance, Paul Zingarini as head of secondary loan trading, Richard Rothschild as a managing director in the global syndicated finance sales group and 12 municipal finance bankers in the healthcare and housing sectors. |
