EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
  • SG CIB appointed Thierry d'Argent as a managing director on its M&A team
  • UBS made three hires in leveraged finance trading and sales
  • David Jacobson, a trust and estates consultant for UBS's private wealth management group, left the bank

FordFrakerMovers.pngFord Fraker (pictured), former U.S. ambassador to Saudi Arabia and former chairman of private investment banking firm Trinity Group Ltd., is now a senior adviser at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. Fraker works closely with managing director Makram Azar, head of Middle East and North Africa. KKR received approval earlier this month to launch KKR Mena Ltd. in Dubai.


Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking appointed Thierry d'Argent as a managing director on its mergers and acquisitions team, residing in Paris. He joins the new M&A management structure, headed by Michel Payan, which will also comprise Thomas Racky and Philippe de Vulpian.

D'Argent was a managing director at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. and a member of its European advisory leadership team and management committee in France. From 2001 to 2008, he headed J.P. Morgan's French M&A franchise.


UBS made three hires in leveraged finance trading and sales. Vince Gomez, from Société Générale SA, joins as an executive director and senior high-yield trader, reporting to Timothy Alexander, head of European leveraged finance trading.

From Citigroup Inc., Frank Palamara joins as a director in leveraged finance sales, reporting to Emmanuel Duclos, managing director, credit fixed income sales. Palamara covers hedge funds and large high yield and leveraged loan funds in Europe. Aneta McGuinness arrives from Mint Securities as an executive director in leveraged finance sales, reporting to Duclos. McGuinness handles a mix of hedge fund and real money.


David Jacobson, a trust and estates consultant for UBS's private wealth management group, has left the bank. He will set up a trusts and estates law firm in New York and continue to focus on ultra-high net worth clients. Jacobson plans to open another office in Melville, N.Y.


Scott-Macon Ltd. hired Robert Snape as a managing director and group head for consumer and retail. Previously, Snape was a managing director in the global mergers and acquisitions group at Banc of America Securities LLC.
