Movers & shakers: June 12, 2009

Morgan Stanley said Henry McVey, who earlier worked at the firm for 10 years, is returning as head of global macro and asset allocation for Morgan Stanley Investment Management. He will start later this month and report to Stu Bohart, co-head of MSIM.

McVey (pictured), most recently a portfolio manager at Fortress Investment Group LLC, was Morgan's chief U.S. investment strategist from 2004 to 2007 and a member of its asset allocation committee.

On Wednesday, Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, a division of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, hired six professionals to serve ultra high-net-worth and institutional clients in Florida and the Latin American markets.

Based in Miami, the team includes two investment representatives: executive directors Candido Viyella and Luis Arriola. They will be joined by vice president Maria Goudie, and Karen Mendoza, Marisol Arroyo and Nicolas Boker. They will report to Jon Mallon, executive director and manager of the private wealth management office in Miami. Viyella hails from UBS, where he spent nine years, most recently as a managing director and a member of its global circle of excellence and the chairman's council. Arriola also spent nine years at UBS.

On Tuesday, Morgan Stanley hired Marcus Rivaldi as an executive director in fixed-income research, responsible for credit analysis of European insurance companies. Rivaldi, based in London, joined from Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc, where he was a director in the fixed-income hybrid capital advisory and structuring business.

Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management announced it has hired managing directors Joanne Jensen, Pat Janco, Becky Creavin and Jennifer Shaw. In New York, they will report to Chip Packard, head, U.S. private bank -- Eastern region.

Jensen is a managing director at Citi Private Bank and previously worked Citigroup Inc.'s global markets and wealth management businesses. The rest also arrive from Citi Private Bank.
