Greenberg Traurig LLP is entering London. A new firm, operating as Greenberg Traurig Maher LLP, will be formed. Paul Maher
will join as the founding member and chairman of the office. Maher will
also serve as a co-chairman of the firm's global mergers and
acquisitions practice. Cate Sharp and Fiona Adams will join him as the office's co-managing members.
Maher was Mayer Brown LLP's global vice chairman. Previously,
he was senior partner of Rowe & Maw, and led that firm's merger
with Mayer Brown more than seven years ago. Maher also led Mayer
Brown's move into Asia via its merger with Johnson Stokes & Master.
Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc appointed Scott Lang as a managing director and head of regional dealer sales for USD rates in its global banking and markets division. Lang, based in Stamford, Conn., will report to Rich Tang, head of fixed-income sales for the division. He joins RBS from Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was responsible for the distribution of cash, derivative products and structured products to the regional dealer community. Lang spent 11 years at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc., where he was a vice president in structured products and derivatives.
