New York broker-dealer Guggenheim Capital Markets LLC launched a financial institutions group. It hired Frank McCutchan and Scott Schondau as managing directors of the group, based in Dallas. McCutchan and Schondau worked together for the past 10 years, focused on the community banking sector. They were managing directors at Bear, Stearns & Co., where they established the pooled trust preferred and subordinated debt program and headed the origination platform out of Dallas.

U.K. private equity firm Sovereign Capital appointed Richard Taylor as an assistant director to its investment team. Taylor arrives from Octopus Private Equity, where he established and headed the Leeds office, leading deals in the lower-mid market. He previously spent seven years at YFM Group.
