John Bennett will join Gartmore as a senior portfolio manager on the European equities team. Bennett will come in from GAM,
where he has spent the past 16 years. There, he manages the GAM star
European equity fund and the GAM star continental European equity fund.
Bennett will arrive in January and lead the Gartmore European
selected opportunities fund and the Gartmore SICAV continental European
fund, both of which are currently managed by Roger Guy and Guillaume Rambourg.
Bank of America Merrill Lynch hired Tim Rocks as an Australia equity strategist, reporting to Sadiq Currimbhoy, head of Asia-Pacific investment strategy, and Andrew Kearnan, head of Australia research. Joining on Aug. 3, Rocks will work with John Rothfield, head of Australia economics. Rocks was an Asia investment strategist at Macquarie Bank Ltd. in Hong Kong.
China Investment Corp., China's $200 billion sovereign wealth fund, is looking for 33 hires in areas including public and private investment, legal and compliance, information technology, finance and more.
